A pleasant and classic walk to the top of Cat Bells Fell.
A well made up track for the most part, with some sections which are badly eroded.
Hazards and warnings
There are some rocky sections, with polished rocks, which can be tricky in wet or windy conditions
Follow the obvious zig-zag track up on to the summit, and then along the summit, before turning left and heading down the obvious track.
Follow the Allerdale Ramble track along the base of the fell, just above the road.
Although this is a very popular fell, the views crowds come for are well worth it. Do ensure you are properly equiped for walk on a steep and rocky hill, as the weather can change very quickly, and the rocky bits are much easier in footwear with good ankle support.
