We wanted a pretty easy walk as it was a cold winters day, quite windy so we decided to stay local and do this loop from Wirksworth to Shottle and back to Wirksworth.
This is a round walk with good views. It is 12.19 kilometres, just over 7 miles so a nice 2.5- 3.5 hours walk depending how fast you walk and how many stops you have.
The conditions were good even though it was wintertime, considering the walk goes across fields it wasn't too muddy.
A pleasant walk which starts by walking from the centre of town up Gorsey Bank on to the hillside, along a country lane then across fields to Shottle.
We chose this walk for a medium size local route which will be pleasant in any season.
