Introduction
A walk down from Tideswell in Miller's Dale, and along the Monsal Trail to Monsal Head and back to Tideswell via Litton.
Conditions
Some rough and muddy paths, as well as minor roads.
Hazards and warnings
The sections of the Monsal trail around the old tunnels are quite rocky and steep.
Detailed description
Go down to Miller's Dale and pickup the Monsal Trail. Follow the Monsal Trail, including the rocky and steep sections around the old tunnels until you reach the viaduct at Monsal Head.
Return to Cressbrook by the minor road, and take the path up into Ravendale, and to Litton, where you can reach Tideswell by a shortish section of road.
