Introduction
For the second year running we have now been able to crosscountry ski on the Mendip Hills near Bristol.
Conditions
20cm of Fresh snow over a hard snow base. 3-4ft drifts towards the top of the wood.
Detailed description
heavy overnight snow was to good to go to waste. A pre dawn start allowed us to get some crosscountry skiing in before work. We could easily have spent the whole morning skiing here if we had the time.
Narrative
We were not the only ones in the woods this morning, a second car in the car park had ski trails leading from it, no doubt enjoying the tracks we had made through the deep snow.
