Detailed description
This is quite a simple walk. Head uphill out of the car park, then turn left onto the first footpath on the left, leading along West Gill. Follow the path along this side valley for just under a mile. At this point the path drops down to the gill, crosses over it and climbs up the far side of the valley, heading towards the top of Rudlang Rigg.
Once at the top of the rigg, turn right and follow the track all the way to Bloworth Crossing, where the old Rosedale Railway crosses the track on an obvious embankment. Turn right and follow the railway all the way across the top of Farndale.
Eventually the railway reaches the side road that drops down from Blakey Ridge into Farndale. Cross this road and continue along the route of the railway - this time along a small path. At the end of the of the railway (a very obvious point), follow the minor path as it continues along the hillside, slowly dropping down towards the fields.
At the edge of the fields, we join a path that cuts across the first field and then follows the line of the field walls to a road. Cross over the road and follow the farm track to Bragg Farm. At the farm turn right, and pass by the farm buildings, then turn left at the edge of the farm and follow the footpath down to the River Dove
At the Dove turn left and follow the river all the way back into Low Mill, crossing the Dove on a good footbridge just outside the village.
