Detailed description

get on at Howsham bridge and paddle down the river there are many obstilacs from trees and rubish in the river but at this time there are not any trees accross the river as yet, allthow I do not paddle this section of the river that much i do enjoy the section between Scrayingham and Buttercrambe, just for the amount of nature and also the freedome.

The weir at Buttercrambe is to be taken with care obstical can be found at top ask and let you  know.

When down past Buttercrambe the weir to the bridge is closed for spawing season May to July this is to be good to the land owner, when arriving at Stamfordbrige take care not to go over the weir as there are spikes in the way and also the canal is the safest way throught.

whilst in the canal before the brigde you need to portage on the right hand side to see if there is access through the gate or it is undernight a very small gap underwater there is no way out once in.
