Introduction
This short swimhike provides a pleasant route around Durham City. You will need a swimsac to carry your shoes and clothes.

Easy swimming
Hazards and warnings
Watch for rowers. Not recommended when the river is high. There is a weir below the river exit.
Detailed description
1. From Framwellgate Bridge take the path up to the Cathedral and then down to Prebends Bridge
2. Cross the bridge, follow the path upstream to flat rock entry point
3. Swim downstream beneath Prebends Bridge to the boat dock on the left bank and walk back to Framwellgate Bridge
