Introduction
This route takes in much of the countryside which David Hockney used to create the artworks that have been shown at the Royal Academy. There is a lot more regarding this at the website www.yocc.co.uk

Detailed description
The route begins in Bridlington Old Town, and continues towards Woldgate and onward to Kilham.
Leave Langtoft and head towards Octon Cross Roads up the B1249. At the round about turn right and head towards Octon along the B1253, and onwards to Burton Fleming which is in the bottom of the Great Wold Valley.
From here the route goes to Grindale, then Boynton before returning to Bridlington Old Town.

David Hockney is an artist who has displayed many artworks at the Royal Academy of the East Yorkshire countryside. One of the main roads which Hockney visited was Woldgate which is approximately 8 miles long.
The route begins in Bridlington Old Town, and continues towards Woldgate and onward to Kilham. Woldgate was the theme for many of his Woldgate and 'The Arrival of Spring' series of paintings.
Along the way there are many places that David Hockney sat and painted using his iPad, paints and charcoal the countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds.
The route travels along the full length of Woldgate to Kilham where the artist spent a fair bit of time capturing various images. On the way out of Kilham on the way to Langtoft the artist created 'The Tunnel' which is a farm track lined with trees on either side.
Just before arriving in Langtoft Hockney created another painting called 'Tracks Into Wheat Field Near Langtoft'
Leave Langtoft and head towards Octon Cross Roads up the B1249. At the round about turn left and head towards Thwing, and onwards to Burton Fleming which is in the bottom of the Great Wold Valley. From here the route goes to Grindale, then Boynton before returning to Bridlington Old Town.
