Introduction
A short walk up the broad track of Stonycroft Gill towards Outerside. Once on the summit of Outerside there are fantastic views into Coledale and of the surrounding peaks. If staying in accomodation in Newlands then this can be a great way to join the Coledale Round.

Deep snow on the summit of Outerside

Detailed description
There should be no problems following this route even in poor visibility apart from the short section over Outerside.
